Pimp Your Packaging
Pimp Your Packaging (PYP)
Every year we toss so much food packaging into the recycling bin. Packaging cardboard has a front and a back. A front which tells you the brand and it's contents and the back which is a blank canvas aching to become beautiful artwork which we can then make into cards. Cardboard packaging comes in various colours from grey to white. Paint a layer of gesso over that blank grey side and you have a wonderful substrate to create a gorgeous background to enhance any paper craft project.
Here's how to make a cello bag holder for the backgrounds.
Take 2 A6 cello bags. Lay them next to each other and stick them together with a piece of tape. This can be washi, masking or cello tape. Once your 2 A6 cello bags are attach to each other flip it over and put an adhesive label. On the label write:

Your cello bag is ready to be filled. In the left had side place 4 pieces of decorated packaging backgrounds. The largest can be 15cm x 10.5 cm and the smallest 6.5cm x 9cm (a standard ATC size) or any size in between. This is because packaging comes in all sizes and you want to use what you have.
This exchange works the same as most of our other exchanges where you take out one background from the left side and place your piece of decorated background in the right hand side.
Then send it on to another member on the PYP list.
